Your first treatment, step by step
It is normal to feel a little nervous before the first time. Here we go through everything, from booking to getting up out of the chair after the session.

1. Find a clinic and book
In the clinic finder you can see the clinics in Sweden and Norway that have INSCULPT Chair. Most are booked through Bokadirekt. Choose a clinic near your work or home, so it is easier to come twice a week.
The price is set by the clinic. Many offer a trial session, so you can feel what it is like before you book a course.
2. Check that the chair suits you
Before the first session, the clinic goes through a health questionnaire with you. Tell them about implants, operations and medication, so the therapist can adapt the session. The chair is not suitable if you:
- have a pacemaker, electronic implants or a drug pump
- have metal implants within 10 centimetres of the pelvis
- are pregnant
- have had a stroke or heart attack in the past six months, or have a weak heart
- have epilepsy
- have ongoing cancer or cancer treatment
- have an ongoing infection, urinary tract infection or acute vaginal inflammation
- have recently had pelvic surgery
- have a heavy period at the time
3. Before your visit
- Come in your normal clothes. You keep everything on.
- Go to the toilet before the session.
- Put aside your phone and smartwatch during the session.
- Feel free to bring a book.
4. How you sit
The therapist helps you sit correctly. You sit in the middle of the circle in the seat, with your feet on the floor and your knees about shoulder-width apart. Your back is straight and you lean slightly forward. If you are short, you may get a block under your feet so your legs are at the right angle.
Your seating position matters a lot. The contractions should be felt in the middle of the perineum. If you feel them more towards the back or to one side, say so and you can adjust together.
5. During the session
A session takes about 30 minutes and has three phases: build-up, activation and recovery. The electromagnetic field activates the pelvic floor with around 12,000 contractions.
It feels like tingling and strong contractions. It does not hurt. The intensity starts low and is increased step by step to suit you. If anything feels uncomfortable, say so, and the therapist lowers the intensity or helps you shift position.
6. After the session
You get up and carry on with your day. No recovery time is needed. Some people feel a little muscle soreness afterwards, much like after a gym session. That is normal and passes. The muscles need rest between sessions, which is why twice a week is a good pace.
7. The course and beyond
A course is usually 10 treatments, 2 times a week. After the course, maintenance once or twice a month is recommended. Keep doing Kegel exercises at home.
If your symptoms are severe or new, talk to a doctor, midwife or physiotherapist before you start. The chair is training and does not replace medical care.
